Keep your Full Size Jeep running strong with this single-action mechanical fuel pump designed for 1963-1971 Wagoneer, Gladiator, and J-Series trucks with inline 6 engine. The fuel pump is mounted on the engine block and is responsible for pulling fuel from the tank and delivering it to your carburetor at the proper pressure. Without a working fuel pump, your engine can’t get the fuel it needs to run smoothly.
Think of the fuel pump as your Jeep’s “heartbeat.” Each time the engine turns, the pump pushes fuel forward. If the pump is weak or fails, your engine starves for fuel and may stall or refuse to start.
Common symptoms you may need to replace your fuel pump:
- Hard starting or no start condition
- Engine stalls while driving
- Poor acceleration or loss of power under load
- Sputtering at highway speeds
- Strong smell of fuel from leaks near the pump
Fits:
- 1963-1970 Wagoneer with Inline 6 (230, 232)
- 1963-1971 J-Series Trucks with Inline 6 (230, 232)
- Note: Jeep transitioned from the 230 Tornado OHC to the AMC 232 in 1965. This pump design is compatible with both engines.
