This Carburetor Insulator to Manifold Gasket is designed for 1974–1991 Full Size Jeeps equipped with AMC V8 engines and installs between the intake manifold and the carburetor insulator (phenolic spacer) on factory-style carburetor setups.

On stock AMC V8 applications, the carburetor does not mount directly to the intake manifold. Instead, a fiber/phenolic insulator plate is used to raise the carburetor and reduce heat transfer into the incoming air/fuel charge. This gasket is the thicker lower gasket that seals the insulator to the intake manifold, helping prevent vacuum leaks while maintaining proper thermal isolation.

Over time, original gaskets can harden, compress, or crack from heat cycling, leading to vacuum leaks, idle issues, or poor drivability. Replacing this gasket during carburetor service or intake work is a simple but critical step in maintaining proper engine performance.

This gasket is approximately 0.40" thick and is intended specifically for the manifold-to-insulator location.
It is not the thin gasket that installs between the carburetor and the insulator plate.
