This Carburetor to Insulator Gasket is designed for 1974–1991 Full Size Jeeps equipped with AMC V8 engines using a 2-barrel carburetor. It installs between the carburetor and the carburetor insulator (phenolic spacer) on factory-style intake setups.

On stock AMC V8 applications, the carburetor is isolated from engine heat using a fiber/phenolic insulator plate. This gasket seals the upper mating surface, preventing vacuum leaks while maintaining proper thermal isolation between the carburetor and the insulator. Even small leaks at this location can cause rough idle, hesitation, or tuning issues.

This is the thin upper gasket, approximately 0.025" thick, and is intended specifically for the carburetor-to-insulator interface. It is commonly replaced during carburetor service, rebuilds, or anytime the carburetor is removed from the engine.

This gasket is not the thicker gasket that installs between the insulator and the intake manifold, that part can be found HERE.
