Stock Height Heavy Duty Leaf Spring Kit for Full Size Jeeps 1976-1991!
Restore your Full Size Jeep to its original glory with our heavy duty leaf spring kit. Say goodbye to that horrible sag and bouncing ride when you go over bumps.
Our stock height leaf spring kit includes:
- 2 front and 2 rear leaf springs
- 4 front and 4 rear U-bolts with nylon insert lock nuts
- Optional add on shocks, each a direct replacement for the factory originals.
- 4 Shackles (2 front, 2 rear) NOTE: IF YOU HAVE A J20, shackles will NOT be included in your kit and will be deducted from your overall price as these only fit 74-91 SJ and J10 models.
For a 1970s FSJ, you'll receive 2 large U‑bolts and 6 standard U‑bolts. The larger U-bolts are intended for the differential-side (pumpkin side) of the axle, where the housing is larger.
For an 1980s model, you'll receive 1 large U‑bolt with 7 standard U-Bolts
Leaf springs are designed to hold the weight of your FJS's body and frame over the axles, absorbing energy from the road. When they wear out, you may notice the rear of your FSJ bouncing or swaying, especially when carrying heavy loads or towing.
Replacing worn-out springs is crucial, as bad springs can damage other suspension components like shocks and links. While shocks are meant to dampen movement, they are not designed to support weight, and weak shocks can affect stability, braking, and handling, posing potential safety hazards.
Leaf springs are made of high-quality materials and come with rubber bushings already installed. The front springs have 4 leaves, and the rear springs have 5, just like the factory heavy-duty springs on Jeep Grand Wagoneers and J10 trucks.
