Polyethylene Fuel Tank for 1980-1988 J-Trucks with Front Fill (Requires modifications, see below)

Note that there is no direct fit tank available for 1980-1988 J-Series trucks BUT this kit is THE best workaround option available! This tank is specifically designed for front filler applications for 1978-1979 J-Series Trucks but with the sending unit, straps, and information below, it can be adapted for 1980-1988 Fleetside J-10 / J-20 pickups with just a few modifications (will not fit stepsides):

• This kit includes a 1963-1979 J-Truck sending unit which will read correctly for 1980-1985 models ONLY (1986-1988 models will require an alternative solution). 
• FABRICATION NOTES: The OEM plastic tank has the sending unit on the front of the tank, ours is on top so that is why you will need this specific sending unit in this kit. With the sending unit now on top, you will need to fabricate some kind of shim to lower the tank so the pipes on the sending unit don't get crushed. The OEM plastic tank was installed with a skid plate that does not match this new tank which is why the straps in this kit are also included. 
• The straps may or may not also need modified, depending on your set up. 
• Fuel lines will need to be extended.
• If the vent nipple interferes with the bed support rail, a notch can be made to clear it.
