Description

This OE-style accelerator pedal cable is a direct-fit replacement engineered for Full Size Jeep applications equipped with AMC V8 engines. Designed to match factory length, routing, and pedal feel, it installs without modification and restores smooth, predictable throttle response.

This cable is correct for AMC 360 and 401 V8–powered Full Size Jeeps from 1978–1991, including Grand Wagoneer, Wagoneer, Cherokee, Cherokee Chief, and J-Series pickup trucks (J10 and J20). It also fits 4.2L (258 I6) Full Size Jeep models from 1981–1988, making it a versatile solution across multiple FSJ drivetrains.

Over time, original accelerator cables can bind, stretch, or internally fray, leading to stiff pedal operation, inconsistent throttle response, or sticking at idle. Replacing a worn cable helps restore proper throttle control and reduces the risk of unintended acceleration.

Installing a new accelerator cable can also improve drivability and idle behavior—especially during cold starts—by allowing the throttle to return fully to its proper resting position.

Reconditioned parts come with a minimum warranty of 90 days, unless otherwise stated (Refer to product listing for warranty duration). The warranty is void if the parts are not returned in the same condition in which they are sold. Warranties for aftermarket parts are covered by the manufacturer.

What Are My Shipping Fees?

For orders delivered within the continental US where reason for return isn't a result of a JeepRecyclers.com/McDaniel Motor Co. error, the cost of the initial shipping charge and a return fee will be deducted from your refund. A prepaid shipping label(s) will be provided. The flat fee for each item being returned can be found in the chart below:
