The fan clutch plays a crucial role in regulating the engine's temperature by controlling the speed of the engine cooling fan. It engages when the engine temperature rises above a certain threshold, causing the fan to spin faster and draw more air through the radiator, thus cooling the engine.

Signs that a fan clutch may need replacement include:

  1. Overheating: If the engine temperature rises excessively even at moderate speeds or under normal driving conditions, it could indicate a faulty fan clutch.
  2. Loud noise: A roaring sound coming from the engine compartment, especially when accelerating or at higher speeds, may signal a failing fan clutch.
  3. Freewheeling: The fan may spin too freely or not engage at all when the engine is hot, leading to insufficient cooling.
  4. Vibration: Excessive vibration or shaking of the vehicle, particularly at idle or low speeds, could be due to an imbalanced or malfunctioning fan clutch.
  5. Leaking fluid: Fluid leaks around the fan clutch assembly may indicate internal damage or wear, requiring replacement.

Reconditioned parts come with a minimum warranty of 90 days, unless otherwise stated (Refer to product listing for warranty duration). The warranty is void if the parts are not returned in the same condition in which they are sold. Warranties for aftermarket parts are covered by the manufacturer.

What Are My Shipping Fees?

For orders delivered within the continental US where reason for return isn't a result of a JeepRecyclers.com/McDaniel Motor Co. error, the cost of the initial shipping charge and a return fee will be deducted from your refund. A prepaid shipping label(s) will be provided. The flat fee for each item being returned can be found in the chart below:
