This Edelbrock RPM Air-Gap Intake Manifold is a performance aluminum intake manifold for Full Size Jeeps with AMC V8 engines. Designed for AMC 304, 360, 390, and 401 V8 applications, this intake helps improve airflow, reduce heat soak, and lighten the engine compared to the original cast-iron intake.
The Air-Gap design creates an open space between the intake runners and hot engine oil, helping keep the air/fuel charge cooler and denser for improved power and throttle response. This manifold is designed to perform in the 1,500–6,500 RPM range, making it a strong choice for performance street builds and mild-to-built AMC V8 engines.
This intake is for square-bore carburetors only and includes standard oil fill and PCV provisions. It does not include EGR, exhaust crossover, or exhaust-heated choke provisions.
Installation Notes
Recommended intake gasket CLICK HERE. Must be used with a factory-style metal valley tray.
Use RTV sealant on the front and rear end rails instead of end seal gaskets. Hardened washers should be used with the intake bolts to help prevent galling and ensure proper torque.
For 1979 and newer vehicles, Edelbrock throttle bracket adapter may be required depending on throttle and kickdown linkage setup.
