This Edelbrock Performer RPM Camshaft & Lifter Kit is a high-performance hydraulic flat tappet camshaft kit for Full Size Jeeps with AMC V8 engines.
Designed for AMC 343, 360, 390, and 401 V8 applications, this camshaft is built for street performance engines that need stronger mid-range and upper-RPM power while still maintaining usable low-end torque. The Performer RPM cam is designed to operate in the 1,500–6,500 RPM range and is a strong match for performance AMC V8 builds using upgraded intake, carburetion, exhaust, and cylinder head combinations.
This camshaft is dyno-matched to Edelbrock Performer RPM intake manifolds and is commonly paired with the Edelbrock RPM Air-Gap intake manifold for AMC V8 engines. Hydraulic flat tappet lifters are included.
Fitment Notes
This camshaft is intended for high-performance AMC V8 street applications. It is not a stock replacement camshaft and should be used with the correct supporting parts, including proper valve springs, timing set, intake, carburetor, exhaust, ignition, and tuning.
Flat tappet camshafts require proper break-in procedure, compatible break-in oil or ZDDP additive, and correct lifter installation. Always verify piston-to-valve clearance, valve spring compatibility, and overall valvetrain geometry before final assembly.
