This Melling repair kit covers the later AMC 258 inline-six oil pump used in Full Size Jeeps from 1981 through 1991. If your Wagoneer, Cherokee, Grand Wagoneer, or J-truck is showing low oil pressure and you want to rebuild the original pump rather than replace it, this kit gives you all the precision components needed for a quality rebuild.
The 1981-and-later 258 uses a different pump design than the earlier engine — specifically the updated pressure relief plug and cotter pin design — so this kit is not interchangeable with pre-1981 applications. Confirm your pump style before ordering. Melling has been the benchmark for oil pump components since the late 1940s, and this kit is made in the USA to the same exacting standards.

Reconditioned parts come with a minimum warranty of 90 days, unless otherwise stated (Refer to product listing for warranty duration). The warranty is void if the parts are not returned in the same condition in which they are sold. Warranties for aftermarket parts are covered by the manufacturer.

For orders delivered within the continental US where reason for return isn't a result of a JeepRecyclers.com/McDaniel Motor Co. error, the cost of the initial shipping charge and a return fee will be deducted from your refund. A prepaid shipping label(s) will be provided. The flat fee for each item being returned can be found in the chart below:
